ABOUT PLIMATES
Primates provide professional waterproofing and heat-insulating materials solutions for building surfaces, roofs, floors as well as other leakages. The hot and humid environment in most parts of India, especially during the monsoon season poses a huge challenge for building construction. Roof leakages are a frequent phenomenon which ruins buildings and even their interiors, leading to expensive and time-consuming makeovers.
Primates is based on a 3-elements system with the main waterproof and final topcoats having 1500% elasticity effectively countering the expansion and contraction in the roof element which causes minute cracks which expand with time. The minute/capillary cracks pull water into themselves (by wicking) and on the other hand, the water just flows down large cracks, causing leakages.
PROCEDURE

Removal of old waterproofing membrane (tarfelt or similar) by mechanical means.

Reinstatement of old concrete roof wherever needed by filling in the cracks with a special acrylic enhanced mortar mix consisting of our proprietary P-707 acrylic-based cement enhancer with the cement & sand mix. This mixture has excellent adhesion between old and new cement and is ideal for sealing cracks.

The repaired cracks are then covered with our anti crack nonwoven mesh firmly embedded in our main Waterproofing layer P-650.

The entire roof will be coated with a coat of our P-777 Anti Hydrostatic Pressure Silicate cement primer.

The entire roof is then coated with 2 coats of P-650 as the main water proofing layer. P-650 is a water-based coating with up to 75% solid content which cures to form a tenuous waterproof layer which can elongate by 1500% with a high tensile strength of 1471 kPa.

The final topcoat is our P-701 which has hollow ceramic gas pockets containing Nitrogen. The solid content is >50% and elongation >300%. Its high tensile strength of 2942 kPa and Tear strength of 2452 kPa make it almost impossible to damage The resulting coating will be a strong, elastic, water proofing & insulating layer of 0.6 ± 0.2 mm Dry Film Thickness covering the entire roof which will maintain an external roof skin temperature of Dry Bulb + 5 OC Vs. 65 OC when dry bulb is 40 OC.
WARRANTY

The entire installation will be warranted for 7 years from date of completion – during this period, our inspector will visit twice a year.

Pre-monsoon: to check for any damage or discontinuities – if any are found, they will be immediately attended to. During monsoon: to verify that there is no leakage.
